The Lawson Room named after the house’s architect R A Lawson, is also a large superior room on the first floor with a Queen Bed and bathroom vanity unit in the room.

The Waipa Room is a sunny and compact first floor room, with Colonial Double Brass Bed, featuring an original decorative wrought iron hand basin plus a wardrobe.

Our Gardens
Situated on the edge of the town belt close to the city, The Argoed (pronounced Ar-goid) is Welsh for “near a wood” and true to its name the house is situated within a tranquil private garden and grounds with mature trees. This creates the feeling of getting away from it all whilst still being close to the city and amenities.
Breakfast
Guests have the choice of three rooms for accommodation including the option of self serve continental breakfast choices in the elegant Dining Room or the Conservatory.
Odyssey Skin & Health
Also situated within The Argoed is Odyssey Skin & Health, a beauty therapy and health and wellness clinic and consultancy. Nicole is a member of the New Zealand Association of Registered Beauty Professionals, so guests are in safe hands with services ranging from beauty essentials through to advanced dermal skin treatments and protocols. All treatments and consultations are by appointment only and available to both guests and the wider public.
